The tunnels of Avenida 9 de Julio in Buenos Aires, which purposes are to speed up the movement of the buses and to avoid congestion in the city center, will be optimized to improve the connection between the city’s downtown and the Constitution Square, an area with a lot of public transport. The impressive viaducts, located at Avenida San Juan, will be inaugurated during the first days of June.
Most of the work is already completed. The only things left to be finished are the details of the paintings and the electrical systems so that, in the upcoming days, the eleven bus lines that are currently using the roads of Avenida 9 de Julio can start using the new tunnels to the North or the South of the Argentine capital.
The work required an investment of $127 million. They built two one-way viaducts with one road each. The walls were decorated by artist Ron Martin.
