Direct Flights between Buenos Aires and New York Coming Soon
Beginning this October, United Airlines will begin offering flights that go directly from Buenos Aires to New York and vice versa, altogether bypassing the annoying layovers in Texas.
Due to a significant increase in business travel between the two countries since the arrival of Macri as Argentina´s new president, as well as the removal of the reciprocity fee, travel has increased sixteen percent compared to the year before. As a result, it made more sense to make a direct flight a reality between the two major cities.
The new route will connect Argentina´s largest airport, Ezeiza, with Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, New Jersey. The General Manager of United Airlines in Argentina, Christoff Poppe, promised very competitive and attractive rates.
“For people in the US, Argentina has become an attractive destination with many other wonderful places to see besides Buenos Aires. We’ve launched a significant advertising campaign in New York advertising our international destinations and Argentina is showcased as one those key destinations. We are encouraging the United customer and New York residents to visit Argentina and different areas of the country,” said Poppe.
This will be the 15th year that United Airlines has worked in Argentina and the company just opened a new global contact center in the country that will serve customers in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, India as well as Argentina.
