Famous Neighborhood Landmark Undergoes Restorations
A famous landmark in the Chacarita neighborhood of Buenos Aires is undergoing major restorations. The Comastri, a glass observatory, is an old relic of the colorful past of the neighborhood, built in 1875.
First, the Comastri operated as a private home, then as a cultural center, and most recently as a school for children with disabilities. In 2014, the site was declared a historical landmark.
Now, the Comastri will reopen once again as a cultural center in Buenos Aires.
This will be the most recent of a serious redevelopments around the Chacarita neighborhood, which is quickly transforming itself into one of Buenos Aires´ trendier districts.
