Throughout the world everyone knows about that day that we have a good excuse to dress up like a zombie or scary witch. The scariest day of the year: Halloween. Celebrating Halloween has become more popular in Buenos Aires. Nowadays the bars, pubs and clubs all celebrate this event.
It is a day that is associated with the colors orange, black and purple, and it is strongly linked to the symbols that we all know like pumpkins, cobwebs and bats. To prepare you for the scariest day and night of Buenos Aires we will take a look at the plans for Halloween 2014.
Alongside the typical Halloween activities and costume parties like visiting haunted houses and the famous trick or treating, there is the yearly Zombie Walk. On 2 November, the zombies come out to walk the streets of Buenos Aires. It is an open event in which anybody can participate. Last year more than 35,000 people joined this event. The Zombie Walk is a parade of people who dress as terrifying characters. Often a dance to the song “Thriller” is performed in tribute to Michael Jackson.
Besides the yearly Zombie walk Buenos Aires offers a lot of other events during Halloween. Wednesday, October 29 there is this party called Jolie especial Halloween in Palermo (Armenia 1744). This is a pre party of Halloween. All people in costumes are welcome!
On 31 October there is the Halloween Pub Crawl, a tour where different pubs in the neighborhood of Palermo SOHO will be visited. During this version of the pub crawl everybody wears costumes. If you don’t wear a costume the entrance price will be $180ARG instead of $150ARG. The pub crawl will start at the Rabbit Club (Scalabrini Ortiz 1648) at 22:00 pm. In the first there will be free beer, wine, rum punch, empanadas and Pizzas. Furthermore the pub crawl includes a shot in every bar and free entrance to the last club of the pub crawl BROOK night club.
Also on 31 October there is the Halloween party by Fiesta Colombiana, the biggest Halloween party of Buenos Aires. This party will be celebrated in MUSEUM located in the oldest neighborhood of Buenos Aires San Telmo (Perú 535). The entrance for people who are wearing a costume is $30ARG without a costume is $50ARG. Before 01:00am there is a happy hour with beer for only $20ARG, shots $350ARG and whisky for $500ARG.
