Netflix has ordered its very first original series from Argentina, the dramatic thriller “Edha”. The series is created and directed by Daniel Burman, a well-known director in the New Argentine Cinema (“Lost Embrace”, “Empty Nest”). Edha is filmed entirely in Argentina and the production will start shooting in Buenos Aires early next year. The series will be released in 2017.
Edha is a dramatic thriller which is described by the writers and Netflix as “a story of dark secrets and overpowering attractions”. The main character is Edha, who is a young fashion designer and single mother. She is struggling to take a decision that will take her to a whole new level in the fashion world, when she meets a handsome model and they fall in love.
“The fashion and music scene in Buenos Aires is unique, sexy and exciting and Daniel Burman and his team are among Argentina’s most gifted creators,” said the vice president of Netflix. Edha is the sixth Latin American orginal series that was ordered by Netflix, after Narcos, Club de Cuervos and more.
