With almost 100 running events a year, Buenos Aires can say that it’s the capital ´running city´ of South-America. Compared to other cities as Bogota, Sao Paula and Santiago, Buenos Aires has the highest numbers. 80 percent of the running events are held in Argentina, and most of them in the metropolitan area.
This all started three years ago when there was a change in diet and healthy living here. A member of ´The Runners Club´ found out that there are between 15.000 and 25.000 people running weekly, most of them in Buenos Aires. There are multiple organizations organizing running training in the evening during the weeks in Buenos Aires.
When participating in one of the events you can choose from distances going from 5 to 42 kilometers and accessible for people from all ages and gender. At this moment the events are popular among men around 30 years old, however in the past up till today, there has been a rise in women.
