The Retiro subway station will remain closed for almost all of January. Retiro station is on of the end stations of the C line. SBASE (the company Buenos Aires Subways) released an official statement saying that the subway will close for maintenance set to restore and improve aspects of the station. The maintenance will begin on 4 January and the services are scheduled to return to normal on 31 January.
Retiro station is an important subway station and is used by over 37,000 people daily. The station links to the Retiro train station and is the main link between the City of Buenos Aires and Zona Norta and the Buenos Aires Province.
The improvements that are planned by SBASE include changing the rail apparatus, which is the device that allows trains to change from one rail to one other.
