A new capital for Argentina?

Buenos Aires could be replaced as the capital of Argentina by a city 600 miles north. Cristina Kirchner, President of Buenos Aires, is considering moving the capital to Santiago del Estero. The current capital is considered geographically remote from much of the rest of the country. Santiago del Estero, founded 455 years ago, is the oldest city and is located in the center of the country.

Day of birth of Julio Cortázar in Buenos Aires

He was a frustrated musician and a lover of Buenos Aires. But above all, he was one of the great writers of the twentieth century. Today, august 26th he would have turned 100. In 2014 not only the centenary of his birth is celebrated, but also the 30th anniversary of his death and the 50th birthday of the emergence of Hopscotch (original title Rayuela), the novel that marked an important milestone in the history of Hispanic literature.
