During the global launch of the Dakar rally in Paris was revealed that the race of 2015 will start and finish in Buenos Aires. It takes off on January the 3th.
Etienne Lavigne, general director of the race said: “This time will be a very special Dakar, with a lot of variety and new things in an area that we know very well”. It is not the first time that the race starts in Buenos Aires; it already passed the capital of Argentina in 2009. The Dakar Rally is an event that really puts Argentina in the spotlight. The 35th edition of the Paris-Dakar Rally will be a special one, especially for Argentina. The race will start and end at Plaza de Mayo, one of the most important squares of Argentina, in front of famous Casa Rosada (the house where the Argentinian president, de Kirchner, lives).
The rally will be 9,000 kilometres long and will go through Argentina, Chile and for the first time Bolivia (instead of Peru). The décor of the rally will be amazing. The Andes mountains, the Atacama desert, Solar de Uyuni, and many others.
