Buenos Aires Artist Creates New Kind of Street Art
Buenos Aires artist, Sebastian Andreatta, has created an innovative new kind of street art that is popping up all over the city. Andreatta´s work, dubbed the BiH project, is a series of fake traffic signs that contain witty, yet profound social commentary.
While his art is known for its biting humor, Andreatta wants people to know that it just supposed to be funny. As he puts it, “just because it makes you laugh doesn’t mean that it’s not serious.”
Futhermore, Andreatta got the idea for his street art from a very heavy visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina last year. (more…)
Nico and Gonzalo, also known as “Buenos Aires stencil” and “GG” are two street artist in Buenos Aires. They are showing their latest work on cardboard at the Hollywood in Cambodia exhibition space this weekend.
The idea of painting on cardboard began as a kind of mistake. One day the two artists were messing around in their studio with spray cans and card left over from old boxes. They ended up selling their master pieces in a local art sale and before they knew all their work was sold. After this happened Nico and Gonzalo knew that there was a successful future waiting for them.“Carton Pintura” was born. (more…)
