Swing by the MALPA in Recoleta and check out the modern artwork of Latin American artists Grete Stern and Adriana Varejao. Figueroa Alcorta 3415, Recoleta.
At night com and check out Bomba del Tiempo, a local must-see percussion orchestra. After dancing, go grab some pizza at Los Cocos and order a fugazetta pizza, an onion and mozzarella local specialty. Los Cocos- Córdoba, Av. 3303, Almagro.
Tuesday
Try a free walking tour to get a real feel for the city. The tour will be guided by Jonathan, a British guy who just loves Buenos Aires! Meet your tour group at 11am at the center of Plaza Italia by the Garibaldi Horse monument. You´ll travel around Almagro, Congress and Plaza de Mayo using local transport.
Later, you won´t want to miss the party in San Telmo, celebrating the crowning of Prince William-Alexander and Maxima Zorriegueta’s. This multi-national fiesta will combine food and drinks from Holland and Argentina, late-night dancing, and a whole lot of people dressed in orange. The party starts at 9pm at Boutique San Telmo, Peru 535. Tickets are 200 pesos in advance and 250 pesos at the door, and will include food and beverages throughout the night.
Wednesday
Stop by the Recoleta cemetery, one of Buenos Aires´ very popular spots to visit. Nearby is the lovely Palais de Glace in Recoleta, where you can check out a new photography exhibit. Posadas 1795, Recoleta.
Afterwards, check out La Catedral in Almagro, and try a tango lesson at 7.30 pm or 9pm. Sarmiento 4006, Almagro.
Thursday
Thursday is a great day to check out the annual book fair that´s being held at La Rural in Palermo until the 13th of May. The fair’s theme this year is Books as Bridges, and there will be a special focus on literature from the Netherlands.
At 8.30pm don´t miss the concert by Pascal Rogé at the Colón Theatre, featuring famous works by Schumann and Poulenc, amongst others.
Friday
Friday, reserve your spot for a special luncheon with the Argentine Experience! They´ll give you tthe low down on everything local, and they organize mate and dulce de leche tastings.
